Squee… squee…

A black bat flits against a glass window, trying to make its way inside before eventually giving up and flying off into the moonlight. The little disturbance doesn’t seem to bother the room’s occupant, a stern blonde woman sitting at her desk mulling over papers. As she taps her pen to her glasses, she hums, before looking up towards her door. It’s the middle of the night, yet there seems to be someone approaching: the distant sound of high heels can be heard far beyond the door. Curious, Sir Entegra stands up, and grabs one of the candlesticks on her desk to light her way. As she gets closer, so does the sound of the strutting heels, until they both approach the door at the same time. Then, the heels stop. There’s no knocking at the door, no calls for attention, no sounds at all. Integra stands still, biting her lower lip as she waits for the appearance of her guest.

Finally, she decides to open her door by herself, and reaches out to grip the handle. But just as she lays her hand on it, there’s a bright flash of purple, and a sound of ticking clock hands. It only takes an instant, but a lavishly dressed woman appears in the room with her back to her; towering over the Hellsing director, this intruder gazes at the office’s artifacts underneath a wide brimmed hat, and puckers her bright red lips into a smirk. Integra, not known for losing her cool, calmly turns around.

Integra: It’s rude to enter someone’s room without permission. Could you not have knocked?

Bayonetta: Oh we could be here for the rest of the night discussing what’s considered “rude”, you’re no saint yourself you know.

The witch turns and looks down, staring Integra in the eyes. Still, the director stands her ground, even as the tension in the air rises; even the candle flames are starting to shiver and dance.

Bayonetta: I’m here to put a bullet in the brain of that monster you’re keeping alive underground. If you won’t cooperate, I’m sure your business partner will.

Integra: I’m sure you’ll find that nobody here will want to cooperate.

With that, the Umbra witch drops her robe; as it falls to the ground, revealing a form-fitting leather outfit and tall high heels around her, a gush of energy ripples out from her body, extinguishing every candle in the office save for the one that Integra herself is holding. This casts an eerie shadow onto the wall behind her, but even with this threatening display, Integra isn’t moved. In fact, her glasses instead shine, like two bright headlights in the dark. And the shadow on the wall behind her begins to morph, like a twisted physical mass.

Then, it grins, a jagged toothy smile of pure white teeth.

Integra: Take it outside.

The glass window shatters, and Bayonetta falls backwards out of it; giggling to herself, she somersaults her way onto the stone walls of the castle she infiltrated, while the mass of black pours out of the window above. Condensing in on itself, it takes a corporeal form: a large red trenchcoat, a wide brimmed red hat, and a sinister looking man all appear within it. Snickering, and biting a bullet between his teeth like a cigarette, Alucard stands 90 degrees on the stone wall just like the Umbra witch below him. Defying gravity, and each other, each monster takes the other in.

Bayonetta: Quite a handsome vampire. Why would Hellsing want that other dog when they can just play with you?

Alucard: Because fuck you, that’s why.

Four arms whip to the side, and four pistols are drawn: one black, one silver, and two blue.

ONE MINUTE MELEE! READY!

FIGHT!!![]

The witch and the vampire send a quick flurry of bullets at each other, some colliding, some ricocheting, and some managing to hit their mark. Except, these last ones don’t manage to do anything: the ones that hit Bayonetta merely scratch her outfit, and the ones that hit Alucard rip out the other side like he didn’t even notice them. But this doesn’t slow them down, in fact they’re just beginning. The two fighters rush each other, Bayonetta running up the wall and Alucard running down until they’re in melee range; the former throws three kicks with her left leg, and the latter blocks them all with his forearms. But as he halts the third hit, he raises an eyebrow as he notices that her high heels… also have guns built into them. She fires from her foot, blasting a hole straight through his forehead with enough force to bend him backwards, but Alucard gives a chilling laugh as he straightens back up and reforms his cranium. His Casull and Jackal spin in his hand before he points them directly into Bayonetta’s face.

At the instant Dracula pulls the trigger, the world turns purple, and the tickling clocks are heard once again. Everything freezes, save for Bayonetta herself, and she leaps overtop of Alucard, firing bullets down into his shoulders as she does so. Landing with the grace of a ballet dancer behind him, her arms glow and quickly spawn two new weapons for her to play with: a pair of large chainsaws already up and revving. With two heaves, she carves an X-shaped cut into Alucard’s back, before Witch Time fades and real time resumes. Now feeling the effects of the attacks, Alucard buckles down and lurches forward as blood rips out of his back, but he isn’t given any reprieve before Bayonetta grabs him by the back of the head. She slams his face down into the wall of the castle; Salamandra, now equipped to her feet, revs up and sends her grinding down the stones towards the ground, scraping Alucard’s body away as she does so. Eventually, she reaches the earth and slams the vampire’s body into it, leaping away to avoid crash-landing herself. With a flip, she turns around, but the bloodstain trailing down the wall is already moving and twisting, as is Alucard’s body. Soon, he’s reformed, and as his hat drifts to the ground behind him, he snickers Bayonetta’s way. Then, all at once, dozens of wide staring eyes open up on the line of blood left on the castle, all fixed on the Umbra Witch.

Alucard swings a punch, even though he’s far out of range. But this problem is resolved when the shadows and eyes latch onto his fist and swing forward with it, propelling themselves like a spear directly into Bayonetta’s stomach. She nimbly recovers from the blow, rebounding off the cobblestones, but Alucard is already upon her, his arms covered with shadows sharpened to the point of two long blades. Catching her at a bad time, the Hellsing ace slashes wildly, cutting into her body as he beats her back; he manages multiple good hits before a flash goes off on her body, and she now holds a glowing purple katana in her hands. With lightning quick reflexes, she begins to establish her defense, now fending off Alucard’s shadowy stabs. A glowing trail flows out the back of her sword as she swings it, contrasting the shadows pooling out of the vampire’s arms; eventually, they get into a blade lock as Alucard crosses his hands in front of his face, trapping the witch’s sword. As she looks down into his eyes, however, she smiles, before her leather top begins to twist and churn. The outfit, actually a massive compilation of her own hair, restructures itself into a large whip which swings forward, striking Alucard across the face. This gives her the opening to continue attacking, and she lays into her foe with multiple more wicked weave strikes, before suddenly rearing her hair back and forming a hoop with it in the air. In the center of this hoop, a purple shadow forms, and a giant violet fist suddenly punches straight out of it, flattening Alucard into the wall of the castle.

33

Still managing to reform, the prince of darkness cricks his neck, before plunging his hands to the ground. Two snaking pools of bloody shadows, covered in eyes, slither out and make their way towards the Witch. With an arrogant flip, Bayonetta leaps over them, only to be interrupted as a series of spikes suddenly rupture out underneath her, catching her off guard as they impale through her chest and legs. As his laugh echoes into the night, Alucard lifts one hand up and aims the Jackal at her, firing multiple shots into Bayonetta’s body as his other arm pulls her towards him. Each bullet makes a hit, until she’s up close; here, Alucard bashes his handgun into her skull, driving her into the ground. Instinctively, Bayonetta fires from both of her heel guns, but all that manages is sliding Alucard backwards. As she pulls herself up, Draclua holds his white gloves in front of his face, and forms a square with his thumbs and index fingers for his eye to look through.

23

The shadows in front of him erupt into a large doglike form, with snarling teeth and a fierce roar; it lashes down and chomps down on Cereza, crushing her in its maw before tossing her aside like a discarded dog toy. Now bleeding from her head, Bayonetta looks up, and scoffs at the abomination in front of her.

Bayonetta: Misery loves company… Avavago!!!

Striking a flashy pose, Bayonetta discards the hair across her body, which pools into another, much larger, portal on the ground. From within, a snarling creature’s head emerges from a different realm, also chomping its teeth into the open air. Gomorrah and Baskerville make eye contact, before they roar and lurch their necks towards each other. In a fearsome brawl, each summon tries to rake its jaw across the other, or sink its bite into the other’s throat, tearing at each other even without limbs to assist them. Finally, it is Baskerville that emerges on top, snapping its jaw into Gomorra’s neck and squeezing tightly to draw a blood-curdling scream from its foe.

11

But as Gomorrah’s body fades away, Baskerville is suddenly blasted apart by a large anchor that flies through it; the heavy weapon also blasts its way into Alucard’s torso, embedding itself within. The anchor, tethered to a crossbow held by Bayonetta, tugs Alucard along with it as the Witch leaps into the air, swings the chain around in a white arc, and smashes him to the ground, blasting several cobblestones apart with the impact. The blow splatters Alucard’s body into a wide pool of blood, but immediately, it begins to churn; several columns of blood rise up, and from within them, a slew of zombified humans rush outward. They make a beeline straight for Bayo, who goes into action immediately with a choreographed dance movement; each pose points one of Love is Blue towards the incoming zombies and blasts a hole in its head.

4

Amidst the chaos, Alucard makes his presence known, smiling like a maniac as he rushes towards Bayonetta head on. As bodies drop around her, the Umbra witch smiles as she makes time for her proper date; she aims her two handguns, which touch the Casull and Jackal barrel-to-barrel, and pulls the trigger. And as she does, her bullets fly into nothingness; Alucard’s body fades away, like an image on the gusting wind.

1

The real Alucard emerges behind her, with each gun pointed to one of her temples. And as he fires, all goes black.

K.O!!![]

The night skies are starting to churn out rain clouds, and the first droplets are beginning to fall to earth to interrupt such a beautiful night. With an umbrella in hand, Sir Integra opens the front door to the castle barracks and walks out, unfazed by seeing splashes of blood everywhere. She mainly focuses on Alucard, who stands above Bayonetta’s body on the ground; he stares straight down, and his thick mop of black hair makes it hard to read his expression.

With a sigh, Integra lights up a cigarette before walking out into the rain to stand beside her asset. As she gets closer, Alucard looks up, and smirks at her.

Alucard: This one was fun. Keep her.

Integra: She’s still alive? That’s unlike you.

Alucard: She won’t be waking up for a while. Toss her into one of those tanks next to the other asshole.

With a wave of his coat, Dracula turns to walk away into the night, leaving his director with the tall witch’s body to deal with. A little confused, Integra calls after him.

Integra: If you know something I don’t, tell me!

Alucard: She might be on our side. Oops.
