Giorno Giovanna is the main protagonist of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Vento Aureo. He is the wielder of the stand Gold Experience. He fought Joker from the Persona series in an episode of Death Battle.

He participated in the OMMF Wiki's milestone "Warriors of the World" tournament.

History[]

Giorno Giovanna was born as “Haruno Shiobana,” the son of Dio Brando (using Jonathan Joestar's body) and a Japanese woman. As a child, Haruno suffered from his mother’s neglect. At the age of four, Haruno’s mother remarried an Italian man, and they all moved to Italy, where his name changed into “Giorno Giovanna.” There, Giorno not only continued experiencing his mother’s neglect, but also suffered from his stepfather’s abuse. He became the target of bullies, giving him very low self-esteem, and believed himself to be scum. One day while walking home, he found an injured man lying in a grassy field. Several other people surrounded Giorno, asking if he knew this man, to which Giorno lied to them. It was at that time, that Giorno activated his Stand: Gold Experience, and made the grass extremely tall to shield the man. About two months later, Giorno met the same man as before, who thanked Giorno and told him that he would never forget what Giovanna had done for him. Afterwards, Giorno Giovanna’s life turned around for the better. His father no longer abused him, and he became popular among the kids his age. As it turns out, the man Giorno had helped was actually a gangster, who watched over Giorno like his guardian angel. Giorno’s once miserable life was turned into a charming and righteous one. He forged a dream to take over the local mafia and make it as good as that man he met before.

At the age of 15, Giorno Giovanna was introduced by Bruno Bucciarati into the Passione organization. There, he passed a test and was put into Bucciarati’s group, consisting of Guido Mista, Leone Abbacchio, Narancia Ghirga and Pannacotta Fugo. The group would go on a mission to discover the boss of Passione’s true identity, revealing him to be a man named Diavolo. Giorno Giovanna evolved his Stand into Gold Experience Requiem and defeated Diavolo, sending him through an endless cycle of death. After overthrowing and killing Diavolo, Giorno took his place and became the new boss of Passione, reforming it for the better.

Personality[]

Giorno’s childhood was filled with sorrow and misery. His mother neglected him, his stepfather abused him, and bullies picked on him. This gave him very low self-esteem. He was also very cold and uncaring towards people, believing himself to be scum. This all changed, however, once he helped an injured man in a field. Afterwards, his life changed for the better. He was no longer abused and became popular among his peers. This was all due to the man he saved basically acting as Giorno’s guardian angel, protecting him. Now learning he can trust people, Giorno became much more confident, attentive, and ambitious. He vowed to take over the local mafia, and reform it to be as good as that one man from before. Giorno is able to make very important decisions without hesitation and sees them through to the very end. He allows himself to be injured or hurt, if it means he can get an advantage in battle.
