History[]
At the beginning of the series, Henry Stickmin attempts to rob a bank by hiding inside a money bag. He hoped this would be thrown onto the back of an armored truck. This was successful, but as the truck was driving to the bank, Henry opened the bag he was in, exposing himself to the truck’s cameras. This caused the stickman to be sent to the West Mesa Penitentiary, which he eventually managed to escape with the help of a hollow cake, containing a ton of items. Soon after escaping the prison, Henry Stickmin was watching TV at home, when he learned about an extremely valuable diamond residing in a museum. Being the greedy fugitive he was, Henry Stickmin decided to steal the diamond and was ultimately successful.
However, some time after that, the Government kidnapped him and he was put inside a transport helicopter. There, General Hubert Galeforce informed Henry that they wanted to test him on a mission, due to Henry’s criminal track record. He was tasked to infiltrate the Toppat Clan's Airship. This was the first part of the Henry Stickmin series, where Henry can choose four unique paths that would affect Henry’s future story. These are all dependent on the player’s choice. He can either seize evidence from the Toppat Clan and give it to the Government, give Reginald, the leader of the Toppat Clan to the military; betray the government and take ownership of the Airship, or stick to his greedy ways and steal the Toppat Clan’s giant ruby.
Regardless of what Henry does during this mission, he would soon after be detained by The Wall, and become a prisoner of its high-security complex. There, he would have to flee the complex. Just like when he infiltrated the airship, he has multiple unique ways of escaping the complex that affect his future story, though this time there are 5 options. He can either ride away on a motorcycle during a prison riot with his new partner-in-crime, Ellie Rose; ditch Ellie and escape the sneaky way by riding across the ocean on a motorboat, escape with the help of the Government, attempt to escape with the help of the Toppat Clan, but get betrayed and dropped into the ocean; or be presumed dead during a high speed chase.
The fifth and final installment of the Henry Stickmin series is Completing the Mission. In that game, all of the endings are dependent on the achieved endings of both Infiltrating the Airship and Fleeing the Complex. The routes in the game that are about Henry teaming with the government are usually about preventing the launch of the Toppat Orbital Station. The routes about Henry siding with the Toppat Clan are usually about stopping the Government from preventing the launch of their rocket. Finally, the routes where Henry doesn’t side with either faction are usually about him sticking to his greedy ways by either stealing the horde of money from the Toppat Clan’s train, or by infiltrating the Toppat Orbital Station when it's still preparing for launch.
Personality[]
Henry Stickmin is a very lucky, yet equally unlucky individual. He’s also occasionally very dumb, making silly and mindless decisions, leading to his many incarcerations. Henry is also extremely greedy, sometimes being consumed by his love of riches, stealing just about anything he deems valuable. Despite this, he has shown on occasions to be really smart, as he is a master at stealth. Depending on the player’s choice, Henry can either be a law-abiding, redeemed, and selfless stick figure that works with the government and helps people, or a criminal master-mind that sides with the Toppat Clan, fueling his greedy ambitions. Henry Stickmin is a mostly silent protagonist, often having his actions speak for himself. He rarely talks; and whenever he does, it’s usually only a few words long at most.
