History[]
Lucy was the daughter of the wealthy Heartfilia family, where she grew up in a life of privelage, servants, wealth, and affection... from everyone except her own father. While her father was busy with handling his family's business and estate, however, Lucy enjoyed a loving relationship with her mother, a Celestial Spirit mage who bequeathed to her a set of her powerful Golden Gate keys. These magical artifacts could summon beings from the Spirit World, and became the basis for Lucy's own magic; thus, after her mother's death and her father's continued negligence, Lucy ran away from home and joined a famed guild for mages and wizards: Fairy Tail. Immediately becoming aquainted with the guild's fire wizard Natsu Dragneel, Lucy quickly earned a hardworking and friendly reputation with her fellow mages; when her father hired the rival guild Phantom Lord to kidnap her and return her home, Lucy was moved to tears when the entirety of the guild put their lives on the line to defend her.
Lucy became a member of Fairy Tail's self-titled "strongest team", consisting of her, Natsu, Erza Scarlet, Gray Fullbuster, Wendy Marvell and the cats Happy and Carla. Together, they undertook plenty of quests for the sake of the guild (and so that Lucy could pay rent), during which Lucy aquired several more spirit keys, becoming the undisputed master of most Golden Spirits. She even managed to summon the Celestial Spirit King himself, saving the Celestial Spirit World in the process. Her world-saving didn't end there, as she stuck with Fairy Tail to fend off threats such as Griamoire Heart, the Alvarez Empire, and the great dragon Acnologia, the latter of which fulfilled a duty to the Heartfilia family four centuries in the making.
Personality[]
Lucy is ambitious, self-confident, and occasionally cocky with her abilities as a mage, though she admits she as not quite as powerful as Fairy Tail's strongest members. Though easily frighened at powerful opponents, if she or her friends manage to gain the upper hand, she will gloat about her incoming victory and the clever strategies she worked up to earn it. Lucy is typically a bystander during Fairy Tail's usual bar brawls, and laments getting caught up in them, but is not above venting her frustration out with attacks on her own guildmates as well, especially when they repeatedly intrude on her privacy by invading her home. While she often tries to use her physical appeal to her advantage, it tends to work against her most of the time, much to her frustration.
Lucy's most defining trait is her faith in her friends, both her guild mages and her Celestial Spirits. She does not view her spirits as tools for battle, and often joins combat right alongside them; her spirits value her for her genuine trust and care, though some with fickle personalities tend to irk her from time to time. Ever since the entire guild came to her rescue, she has put just as much effort into returning the favour, and will do anything to help her new family succeed. She is also willing to forgive former enemies, including the father her who ignored her for half of her life.
