The following article contains not only major spoilers for Persona 5 and Fire Emblem Engage, but also plays off of events from Somebody495's Season 1.

Two fighters, both initially presenting themselves as good guys, both hiding a more twisted persona, and both turned the way they are by terrible fathers. Who will win? The Fell Heir? Or the Detective Prince?

TWO FIGHTERS!
NO RESEARCH!
60 SECONDS!
MELEE!
Fight[]
Within a massive castle, a ritual was being carried. Banners were placed along the hall depicting an arc with six eyes upon it. Numerous guards stood tall, as various siblings went through the halls to prepare the oncoming ritual. However, they'd be unaware of a figure carefully traversing the upper stories of it. Deeper in the castle was a chamber with an altar set upon it, a white-haired boy in a dark cloak laid upon it while a tall and thin man in a similar cloak stood over him, reciting words from a tome as a dark aura filled the chamber. Around the altar, the siblings were gathering to lay down and offer their prayer to the procedure.
However, there was one sibling that stayed back in the shade of one of the castle halls. He was a guy with white hair and bright red eyes. He wore a white dress with a black crown-shaped collar behind him, black coattails trailing behind him, and black wrist guards and boots. And on top of that was a wine-red cloth over his front with golden accents, and a gem at his chest. This was one of the Fell Dragon's children, known as "Nil". He sighed as he looked upon the ritual.
"Nil": I tried... I tried so hard... and instead, he was chosen to receive the Fell Dragon...
He sighed and turned away, when he spotted a truly odd sight beside him. He cocked a brow and turned to now get the full detail of this stranger. He was a boy with short brown hair dressed in a stark white outfit with a red cape and red shoulder pads. From the pads were golden tassels, a gold belt was around his hips, and he wore a bright red mask with its nose extended almost like a beak. This was the detective prince, Goro Akechi.
Akechi: You seem disappointed.
"Nil": ...I shouldn't be, I really shouldn't. Father is coming back. I may not be chosen, but I cannot wait for his return...
Akechi: I imagine... Nil.
"Nil": How do you know me? Who are you?
Akechi: I'm part of a group of rebels. They have a business of sticking their noses where they don't belong, and helping the people that have no hope. And they believe that you're one of those very people.
"Nil": Me? I'm no one. There are tons of people in this castle more proficient than me.
With that, "Nil" began to turn back towards the hall, now bringing one hand upon the bracelet on his wrist. It shone brilliantly and bore a golden band around it.
Akechi: I wouldn't say that. They've looked deeply into your history, and they saw someone that deserved another chance.
As the boy in stark-white clothing spoke, he drew a hand from his side, revealing a pistol. He carefully wound a silencer upon it, before pointing it up and towards the Fell sibling's head.
Akechi: I, however, am not so naive, Rafal.
With that, he fired a bullet, and it raced towards the white-haired boy. Time seemed to slow down, when suddenly...
"Nil": Emblem, engage.
The bracelet shone again, revealing a prince in dark clothes and a flowing cape, one arm revealed, bearing a sword that matched the bracelet "Nil" wore. However, rather than the whites and blues the man usually wore, he bore dark black colors and a deep red hue. This was the spirit tethered to the bracelet, Emblem Chrom, and upon forming, he swung his sword to chop the bullet away! Having dealt the blow, the white-haired boy turned to reveal a more stern and judgemental expression.
"Nil": So you have researched me... You even know my real name...
Akechi smirked and placed his gun away.
Rafal: Tell me, are those other rebels of yours near?
Akechi: Can't say. They could be in these halls, they could be on the other side of the continent.
Rafal: I see...
Rafal chuckled before bringing up a weapon, an axe comprised of black and gold with a head of twisting blades, his signature Revanche. Akechi, meanwhile, flicked his other hand to reveal a saber with a blade that shone like light.
Rafal: Either I'll have to kill you, or I'll have to kill you and your friends.
Akechi: "Friend" is a... complicated term. I know that they'd hate to see what I'm going to do to you. Persona!
His mask shone with blue fire as a muscular figure manifested behind him in similar blue flames. He was bright white with bursting muscles, golden accents, and a golden bow, along with a white and blue cape flowing behind him. The two in white stood off against each other, when they both channeled their power. On Rafal's side, he manifested a pair of corpse-like soldiers with thick helmets and bright lines across their flesh, one wielding a sword one wielding an axe. On Akechi's side, he manifested a warrior with white armor, a white cape, black hair, and a spear, and a lion-like creature with white fur, a white mane, and a serpentine tail. Rafal had summoned a pair of creatures known as Corrupted, and Akechi had summoned a Cu Chulainn and Cerberus respectively. And at that, the two's summons rushed at each other to meet for battle!
Masks off! FIGHT[]
- 60
Cu Chulainn's spear clashed with the swordsman's sword, while Cerberus charged into the axe-wielder's weapon and threatened to hurl him off his feet, though he held firm. At the same time, Rafal ran around from the side, accompanied by Emblem Chrom, and rushed at Akechi. The student flipped his gun out and fired. Chrom was able to swing to deflect it. However, it seemed that Akechi had anticipated Chrom swinging and leaving Rafal exposed.
Akechi: Robin Hood!
The muscular being Akechi summoned aimed his bow and let loose a beam of light. Rafal was forced to roll to the side to evade the shot, and was given only a moment to react as Akechi leapt after him while raising his shining blade, the Corrupted and Akechi's summons still lashing out at each other and trying to break past each other's defenses. The Detective Prince stabbed down and Rafal was forced to yank the shaft of his axe up to prevent the sword from going straight into him. He'd be able to hold Revanche firmly before swinging hard to drive Akechi back, which he followed up by rushing at Akechi. He and Chrom swung their respective weapons in tandem, slicing Akechi just in time for his sword-wielding Corrupted to weave past Cu Chulainn's spear to slice at his midsection!
Akechi grunted as he was driven back and stumbled back. Rafal leapt up and rose his axe with the intent to smash down on him, when...
Akechi: Taste my wrath!
Akechi's Persona delivered a punch into the ground, which manifested as a shadowy pool that suddenly flashed upwards, uppercutting Rafal and hurling him back! Rafal fell back before flipping through the air and landing on a foot and a knee before standing up, just in time for Akechi to rush in to continue his sword swings.
- 50
Now, however, Rafal would claim Chrom's sword, and swing it up to clash with Akechi's blade. The two blades clashed as the Corrupted and Akechi's summons struggled against each other, when Akechi's Persona rushed in. Robin Hood reared back and delivered a powerful strike with his bow, striking Rafal with a megaton-level blow that sent him skidding backwards and grunting as he slammed into the wall behind, Cu Chulainn and Cerberus managing to knock their respective foes back. The Fell Heir grunted and began to climb up when Akechi trained his gun again. But Rafal wouldn't just lie back and take it.
Rafal: I'll finish this!
He swapped his sword into a tome, and it hovered while sparking with electrical energy, before sending a powerful bolt of electricity forwards, just as Akechi fired! His bullet would be destroyed by the beam, and he was only able to narrowly weave to the side, getting scraped by the beam of energy. He snarled and held his side, while Rafal took the opportunity to rush forwards. He discarded the weapon provided by the bracelet and opted for his axe, Chrom taking up the sword he'd originally passed to the Fell Heir, and he and Chrom both swung in tandem, landing a pair of blows that forced the Detective Prince back! He landed with a roll and glared at Rafal, before pointing at the Fell Heir.
Akechi: My skills exceed yours!
Robin Hood formed again and surrounded Rafal with a debilitating energy, and just like that, the Fell Heir could feel his strengths wane! Still, he and Chrom attempted to press their advantage, but Akechi was able to easily weave past their swings, before ramming the butt of his saber into Rafal's chest to knock him back, before delivering a set of rapid swings to drive him back further.
- 40
He leapt up and went to swing down on Rafal, though the Fell Heir and Chrom brought their blades up to block that swing before swinging up to knock him off balance. While Akechi was descending down, Chrom swung down on him to knock him down, allowing Rafal to swing his axe to hurl him backwards. Akechi skipped across the hallway before landing on his knees, just in time for Cerberus and Cu Chulainn to land beside him. He glared towards the Corrupted that Rafal had summoned, and saw they'd suffered a fair few wounds, but still looked ready to kill them. Akechi groaned and climbed up to his feet, before allowing a dark energy to travel from him to the two creatures he summoned.
Akechi: Kill them already!
Cerberus and Cu Chulainn were surrounded with a dark shade, and bore a manic look upon both of their faces. The swordsman lunged forwards, only for Cu Chulainn's spear to swing and knock the Corrupted's sword away. And while it stumbled, the spearman spun his spear to point the tip forwards, before stabbing forwards to deliver a one-shot kill through the Corrupted's head! At the same time, the axe-wielder rushed at Cerberus, only for the white-furred animal to summon up a pillar of flame that stopped the Corrupted in its tracks, before the beast rushed forwards to dice the creature with its claws! Rafal was shocked by how suddenly the two summons grew in power, and the two turned towards the Fell Heir as Akechi gave off a low cackle. The two began charging towards him, though he decided that he may need another bracelet. Thus, he swapped it out for a black, thorny-band that almost resembled a tiara.
Rafal: Hurry up and die!
The bracelet shone, before manifesting a woman in black armor with long, flowing hair, a black tiara on top of her hair, and a black wyvern beneath her. Only, instead of purples, the woman bore shades of red. This was Emblem Camilla, and she bore an axe. The two creatures snarled and got ready to swing on Rafal, but he channeled the bracelet's power, and seemed to manifest the wyvern's wings for a moment. The wings swung and casted Rafal up to evade the two summons' swings! Akechi would be surprised at the sudden movement, and Rafal, while on high, hurled himself downwards to deliver a powerful slam of his axe upon the two creatures!
- 30
The two were stunned by the blow, heavily injured, and left totally exposed as Rafal swung left and right to dash them. With those swings, he flipped around to face Akechi and flew after. However, the Detective Prince's shock at the sudden transformation melted away into a smirk. He brought a hand up to his face, and his whole suit lit up.
Akechi: Loki!!!
His white suit faded, and in its place was a stark black suit with blue lines running diagonally up it, a tattered cape flowing behind, and the red mask he originally wore was replaced with a striking black one shaped to look like it bore an evil smile. He brought up his blade, it swapped from a bright blue sword to a serrated red one as he managed to catch Rafal's axe. The two weapons struggled against each other, when Akechi's Persona manifested behind him. Only, instead of the white-clad symbol of heroism he bore before, there hovered a lanky figure in black and white clothes with a set of horns, and wielding a red-bladed sword that seemed as long as it was tall. This was, indeed, the Persona, Loki.
Once manifested, it reared back and delivered a swing against Rafal that managed to overpower him and send him barreling backwards! With his Emblem, he flapped his wings to bring himself to a slow, when Loki lunged upwards and chopped downwards. Rafal was hurled again and through the nearby wall, bursting through it and out into the fields outside the castle! Akechi raced forwards before leaping through the hole and after Rafal. He began to descend towards the field, when a bolt of electricity lunged forwards! Akechi twirled to the side to evade it, when he looked to the source and saw Rafal, having righted himself and now holding an axe with an electrical head.
Rafal reared back and swung another bolt, forcing Akechi to roll again. He brought his gun up and fired a pair of shots. One struck the Fell Heir while he turned away to evade the other. Akechi then followed up by using Loki to conjure dark energy, shadows pooling around Rafal before exploding into a shadowy burst!
- 20
Rafal began to descend at around the same time as Akechi. He flipped around to kick against the wall of the castle to get near the Fell Heir and swing down on him. Rafal brought his axe back to block his sword with the shaft of his axe, and the force began to divert the two of them faster down the ground. Rafal, however, adjusted his flight path to instead fly parallel to the ground as opposed to crashing into it. This allowed Akechi to leap off of him and to safely roll across the ground to reduce the damage he received while Rafal descended and skidded against the ground, the bracelet's power fading as he assumed his normal form. He and Akechi glared at each other, when the Fell Heir unveiled another bracelet. It was a black one with corners and golden accents about it.
Rafal: I'll strike you down!
The bracelet shone, and beside Rafal formed a trio of spirits, each in a black school uniform. The short woman bore red leggings and a cloak along with an axe, the charismatic man bore a yellow cloak along with a bow, and the compact man wore a blue cloak and armored gauntlets and greaves as well as a spear. These were the spirits of Edelgard, Claude, and Dimitri, and like the previous spirits, these ones bore a red hue. Akechi narrowed his gaze and already didn't want to deal with more of this. Thus he commanded Loki, who sent another burst of dark magic at Rafal. However, Claude positioned himself beside Rafal and brought up his bow, before firing an arrow expertly that sniped the dark energy midair. With it out of the way, the charismatic man tossed his bow towards Rafal, who took it and aimed and fired a bright red arrow at blinding speeds!
Akechi took a shot straight to the shoulder and hissed out in pain as he grasped the wound. Rafal loaded another arrow and fired, though the Detective Prince was able to weave to the side to evade it. He began rushing forwards, at which Rafal swapped out the bow for Dimitri's spear. The Fell Heir held the weapon firmly before rushing forwards with a thrust. Akechi tilted his head to the side, when he realized that this spear had a distinctive, sword-like head. Rafal chopped down and Akechi brought his sword up to defend himself, though the force of the swing whipped him off his feet for a moment and hurled him behind! Akechi found his footing while Rafal chased after him while holding that spear out to the side.
- 10
Rafal swung left then right, with Akechi weaving this way and that, before managing to sidestep a stab. Having weaved past it, the Detective Prince rushed in and delivered a slash against Rafal's side! He followed up with a couple more swings, before conjuring up Loki who leapt through the air to deliver a powerful overhead Laevateinn swing upon the Fell Heir. He brought his spear up to try and parry it, but the force of the swing would hurl his weapon from his hands into the soil below! While he was reeling from that strike, Akechi called Loki back before rushing forwards with another flurry of sword strikes. However, now Edelgard would manifest and granted Rafal her axe.
Rafal was able to bring up the axe to defend against Akechi's serrated sword! After his blade scraped against the head and shaft of the mighty weapon, Rafal proceeded to lift that axe up, before chopping it forwards and against Akechi, hard enough to crack the ground before hurling the Persona user away!
- 5
Akechi was flying a few feet above the ground for a brief few moments, when he touched down. Rafal had rushed at him while wielding that woman's axe.
- 4
Akechi leapt over him to evade another heavy swing, and while behind him, he held out his gun and fired at his back, causing him to stumble!
- 3
Akechi touched down a short distance away. Rafal pivoted around to deliver another swing of that powerful axe, which Akechi leapt away from.
- 2
Akechi cackled wildly as he landed a far distance away. Rafal began to race after him.
Akechi: God, I live for this!
- 1
His mask faded as Loki manifested once more. The Persona casted a beam of light from the heavens upon the Fell Heir. When it got too close, it suddenly exploded outwards! A massive blue orb began to fill the courtyard as Megidolaon landed its mark!
- KO
The explosion kicked up a fog of dust that coated the courtyard. Akechi reeled back and covered his face as it swept past, and after a few seconds, the fog finally dispersed. He breathed in and out after the rough fight before looking out over the aftermath of the battle. A massive crater remained, its epicenter right where his casting landed its mark. Akechi sighed and sauntered towards the edge of the crater with a self-satisfied smirk on his face. He stepped closer and saw there was some depth to his attack.
Akechi: Now to confirm the kill.
The Detective Prince stepped over the precipice before beginning to descend down the slope. He approached the epicenter with purpose while drawing his gun. Though, as he approached, he became aware of a light shining deeper in. He cocked a brow and sped up his pace. He came close, where he saw seven different bracelets hovering around the epicenter of the attack. He could see Rafal there at the center of the crater, barely clinging to life, while the various bracelets shone some light upon him. He recognized three from the fight with him, but saw four in addition to them. He already suspected this wasn't good, and thus brought his gun up and fired. However, the bracelets' magical aura seemed to stop his bullets dead in their track.
After that, the magical energies of the bracelets overtook Rafal, and his form began to shift and twist. Akechi's eyes went wide and he quickly ran the other way. He made it out of the crater, when an explosion of energy radiated outwards! He'd hear a mighty growl from within the crater before turning, where he now saw what the bracelets had done to that man. A creature the size of a building began to climb out of the crater. It was draconic with massive wings and a long, claw-like tail. It had white scales on its upper half, and a black and red underbelly. And on top of its shoulders was a serpentine head with a cobra-like hood. The creature loomed over Akechi and stamped towards him.
Rafal: Behold and tremble in fear! This is the might of a true dragon!
Akechi huffed and puffed as he looked over the might being, before clenching his teeth and hissing out air.
Akechi: Don't flatter yourself. I'll kill you a hundred times if I need to!
The dragon snarled with fury and loomed above him, ready to take this fight up a notch!
Round 2: FIGHT[]
- 60
Rafal began to glow with a cursed energy, before bellowing and radiating it outwards. Akechi brought his blade in front of him defensively, only to find himself unaffected by it. However, looking around, he could see more of those corrupted creatures revealing themselves in response to the dragon's magic. Sword-wielders, bowmen, spellcasters, a small squadron had revealed themselves for combat. One of those spearmen rushed at him and forced Akechi to leap away as he delivered a pair of swings. A Corrupted with a fiery tome launched a ball of flame that Akechi leapt away from, while Rafal came in from behind and lunged in, delivering a headbutt that hurled the Detective Prince towards the crowd of Corrupted. However, he was able to flip over an incoming sword swing and end up behind them.
Akechi: Loki!
Loki manifested once more, where it pointed past Akechi and down at the crowd of Corrupted. From its fingers, it launched thunderous blasts that managed to shred various members of the Corrupted like they were paper! He'd touch down, when Rafal charged forwards again. He swung his head towards Akechi, and the Persona-wielder was forced to bring his sword up to defend against the dragon's fangs. The blow still shoved him back a fair bit as he struggled to focus. He was, however, able to find his bearings.
Loki manifested behind and held his sword, before swinging it overhead, and slamming it down right on the dragon's head and bringing it to a halt! Akechi was able to pull away from the beast, but Rafal brought up one of his claws and swiped, knocking the Detective Prince back. And while he was recovering from the blow, Rafal gathered more of his corrupted energy. From his position, Akechi was now able to see... vortexes on around the battlefield. He could only imagine this was where those creatures were coming from, so he leapt towards one of them, where he stabbed his sword into the neck of an axe-bearing Corrupted that began to raise itself from it.
- 50
Though that creature was dead, Akechi would take notice of a pair of heavily armored Corrupted, as well as one riding on top of a wyvern. The armor-wielding ones rushed out in between the Detective Prince and Rafal, where they began taking one of their spears each and threw them at him. Akechi was able to weave this way and that to evade the spears, though would be blind-sided by a blast of fire from the side! He grunted and turned, where he saw the pegasus knight wielding a spear burning with flame. As he was suffering from that burn, Rafal brought up a claw and swung it down with the intent to crush him! Fortunately, the Persona-wielder was able to dodge to the side to evade it, where he leapt after it and slashed his sword into the wrist of the dragon!
Rafal screeched in pain and flicked his claw, knocking Akechi off of him, before going for another swing! Akechi brought his sword down to defend against it, though he'd still be thrown off his feet, and onto the mounted Corrupted's flying steed. The flier grunted in alarm before bringing up their flaming spear and stabbing at him. Akechi brought his sword up to angle the head away, before shoving his blade forwards to stab through the fiend's chest. The pegasus began whinnying and throwing itself around while Akechi struggled to keep a grip on it. He'd force the creature's flight path in another direction, where he'd use Loki to sling blasts of cursed energy at the armored enemies below, intermittently pointing his gun and firing at Rafal's face.
He'd be stricken by a few bullets and grunted in pain. He'd bare his fangs and gather more corrupted energy. It'd pool above his back, before he flapped his wings. He hovered above the battlefield and above Akechi, where he held up his wings to cradle the energy he gathered. And then, once it finished charging, he sent forth a powerful beam of energy! Akechi was able to tilt the pegasus to allow the beam to narrowly miss him. The beam burrowed into the ground below to dig a rut into it, before Rafal swiped it to the side. Akechi found the powerful beam of energy coming straight for him, and he was forced to leap from the pegasus! The beam tore through the steed as it missed the Detective Prince by a hair!
- 40
Having evaded it, Akechi would rush at the dragon and leap up, before delivering a flurry of sword swings against the beast's chest. Rafal shouted in pain before swiping his claw up to knock Rafal skyward. And while he was airborne, he summoned up Loki to blast the Fell Child with more cursed energy, causing the beast to reel back. And after touching down, he summoned more cursed energy to debilitate the enemy, who scrambled towards him to bring both of his claws up. Akechi rolled to the side to evade a two-clawed slam, at which point he had Loki swipe upwards to deliver a powerful slice against one of those claws!
The dragon snarled in pain before swiping his wings down and smacking Akechi back. And while he was knocked back, the Fell Child brought his wings up to channel more magical energy, before launching a beam of energy at the Persona user! The Detective Prince was forced to bring his sword up to try and defend himself, though the burst of energy would hurl him off his feet and back towards the wall of the castle! The beam gave away to reveal cracks formed all over the wall behind Akechi as he descended onto his hands and knees, heavily injured from the blast. He used his sword to begin picking himself up onto his feet, where he saw Rafal coming straight at him.
Rafal gathered more energy into himself and began raising his wings. Akechi used Loki's debilitating power again to weaken and slow him down, before racing away. Rafal slammed his whole form down where Akechi once was, and the energy he'd gathered exploded outwards, launching a powerful shockwave through the area and causing the wall nearby to shatter and much of the terrain to also be shattered into pieces! The Detective Prince felt the shockwave, and he was sent hurtling several feet away from the force of the attack!
- 30
Akechi flipped through the air and messily tumbled across the ground. He got scraped up and bruised, and he huffed and puffed as he stoodup, where now he saw the massive dragon flying after him. The creature screeched, and now a pair of similar winged beings flew behind it. They were black and red and wielded wings instead of forelegs, as well as a multi-eyed head. Rafal was now being accompanied by Corrupted Wyverns.
Akechi: I won't end like this...
He briefly thought about that accursed boy with black hair. He thought about how he loathed him, yet how the two of them worked towards a single goal. His eyes flashed with determination before his mask burned and another figure loomed behind him.
Akechi: Hereward!
Instead of Loki, Akechi summoned up a muscular figure, akin to Robin Hood. Except instead of wearing white and blue, this being wore black and red, wielded a composite bow, and had a threatening black mask on him akin to Akechi's. Loki pointed and Hereward pointed his bow and aimed. Then, several bolts of thunderous blasts hurled from his weapon and out at the enemies. They struck hard and managed to dice up the wings of the Corrupted Wyverns, causing them to begin to descend. Rafal, meanwhile, pulled back as Akechi began racing forwards with the new summon. And indeed, the Detective Prince was rushing after the felled wyverns.
When he got near one, Hereward reared back, before swinging his bow like the blade of a guillotine, chopping through one and managing to instantly sever it! And he approached another and brought the bow up before striking it down with yet another beyond colossal strike! However, following that, Rafal would swoop down and headbutt Akechi, sweeping him off his feet and carrying him up into the sky!
- 20
The two continued up into the sky, where Akechi would begin to brace himself to carefully get a better stance on top of him. He'd roll up and over Rafal's brow to get on the back of the dragon's neck. He ran down and slashed at it as he got closer and closer to the wings of the Fell Child. And once there, he'd deliver slash after slash on those wings. Rafal would shout in pain, before swinging his form. His back arched upwards and hurled Akechi off of him! And once he was tossed up in the air, Rafal swung around to beat him with his tail and knock him down!
The Detective Prince descended downwards and crashed into the terrain, forming another crater! The Persona user groaned in pain and climbed up to his feet, though he was clearly struggling to keep himself upright. However, he could look up and see the fiend preparing another beam attack. Akechi began scrambling towards the space of earth directly beneath where Rafal was flying. If this was anything like the other beams, he wouldn't be able to target there. The energy soon finished gathering around Rafal, and he launched another beam of destruction down to the terrain! Fortunately, Rafal wasn't immediately in harm's way, but he was still blown away form the force of the impact! He landed in a heap down in the shadow Rafal cast, which was when the dragon began rapidly descending.
Akechi would be aware of the oncoming shadow and climbed up onto his knees. However, he lashed his hand out as he summoned his Persona.
Akechi: Hereward!
The archer manifested behind Akechi before wielding one end of his bow like a sword. He reared back as Rafal came closer, before swinging firmly, striking hard against the claws of the beast... and managing to hurl the beast off and away from the intended point of impact! Rafal touched down on his claws, but Akechi would make sure to follow up with Hereward pointing his bow, and loosing another volley of thunderous blows that rattled the Fell Child.
- 10
Akechi was still huffing and puffing from the injuries he'd taken, and Rafal himself was looking to be in a bad way too. However, the dragon snarled in anger and began stamping after him. Rafal's Persona stood at the ready, before sending another bout of dark energy at Rafal. It flew forwards, and exploded into a cloud of shadow! However, Rafal lunged through the resulting explosion while bringing a claw out. He swung across and sliced into the Detective Prince hard enough to send him skidding back a few feet. Rafal brought another claw up and swung, though Hereward was able to use his bow to deflect the claws a bit.
- 5
Following that, Akechi, realizing he was on his last legs, decided to flick his gun out and empty his chambers, shooting along Rafal's neck and getting another grunt of pain from him!
- 4
Rafal suddenly lunged a claw out and managed to grab him, before yanking him off the ground. The dragon growled and reared back. Akechi wouldn't take this sitting down, and brought his sword up and stabbed it into the hand grasping him!
- 3
That didn't stop the beast, however, for he brought that claw up before swinging it down and hurling Akechi into the earth beneath the dragon! Akechi groaned and climbed up to his knees.
- 2
He looked up, and saw Rafal gathering those energies again, just like when he blew up the terrain before!
Akechi: Hereward!
He had no room to run, so he had the Persona come to and rear that bow back again, before swinging it like a blade once more!
- 1
The bow met Rafal's descending form! There was a notable pause as the two forces struggled, Rafal trying to crush Akechi and Akechi trying to slice through him with one last Rebellion Blade. And in the end... Hereward's bow was knocked out of the way. Akechi could only look on as Rafal came down, and smashed the terrain! A mighty shockwave flew out from the point of impact as Akechi's death knell echoed out, only to be drowned out by the sound of the terrain exploding outwards from Rafal's impact!
- KO
Flowers, shrubbery, and soil and gravel descended from the air as the courtyard was now rendered a ruined wasteland. Not even Rafal's opponent remained. Instead, in the epicenter of the latest blow stood the now un-transformed Rafal, with only the broken remains of Akechi's sword at his feet. The Fell Child huffed and puffed in the aftermath of the battle. He looked out around him, before closing his eyes to try and take in one good breath of fresh air...
...
And then, the brief moment of respite was destroyed as a powerful burst of dark magic blasted out from the castle, soon followed by a terrifying roar. The white-haired boy was blown off of his feet and fell into a heap as he felt the shockwave race past him. He struggled up and turned over his shoulder, where a fog of dust covered much of his vision. He shielded his eyes as he tried desperately to peer through it. The fog was thick, but he began to make out the form of a mighty being. He could see the silhouette of a serpentine dragon with bright red eyes that pierced the cloud cover. Rafal realized what he was looking at, and he rose up to his feet.
Rafal: Th-the Fell Dragon!
He could only watch as the figure ascended from the shattered castle and up into the sky. He tried running towards the castle.
Rafal: F-Fell Dragon! I-I'm here! Please, don't leave!
He ran and ran, making it to the dust-coated halls. He covered his face and struggled through the halls, until he made it to the chamber he looked over before Akechi challenged him. He could see no sign of his siblings within the chamber, and barely saw the tail end of the Wings of Despair ascended through the hole in the ceiling. He realized that he lost his chance to be noticed and swept up by Grima.
Rafal: FATHERRRRRRRR!
...
It had been over a month since then. The world had descended into despair as the undead swept throughout the continent and as Grima himself tore the nation apart. A group of heroes had tried to stand against him, but that failed. Rafal, being the last standing Fell Child, didn't attract the attention of the undead, however. Unfortunately, as far as he was sure, that meant he didn't get the Fell Dragon's attention either. He just wandered a land whose heroes fled to another reality. He soon got to a beach, before sitting down and burying his face into his arms. He sighed in frustration as he thought back about how close he was to being noticed, acknowledge in some way, by the Fell Dragon.
???: There you are.
The white-haired guy shuddered and brought his head up. He turned towards the source. There was a man in a black gi with spiky white hair, green skin, pointed ears bearing earrings, and a shining halo behind him.
Man in Black Gi: I've been looking for a little help.
Rafal: I don't know what you expect from me. I'm completely worthless.
Man in Black Gi: Worthless? You? You don't think I know who you are?
Rafal cocked a brow and turned towards him.
Rafal: Who am I?
The man in the black gi smirked and brought a hand up. He revealed a mark on it resembling an arc with six eyes on it... the symbol of Grima.
Man in Black Gi: Why, I believe I'm your father.
Rafal's eyes went wide. And his attention was drawn skyward as he began to see the familiar wings of the Fell Dragon rake through the clouds before the full form of the creature peered through the clouds and down on him. He looked even more grandiose than Rafal could tell peering through the fog. The Fell Child was stunned.
Man in Black Gi: From what I gather, you were able to attain the power that brought me to the avatar of this time period in the first place. Naga isolated me to here, but I think you can take care of that.
Rafal: What... what are you saying?
The man in the black gi smirked and advanced, before holding a hand out towards him.
Man in Black Gi: I need you.
Those words caused something to spark in Rafal that he never felt before. He actually felt wanted. The Fell Child's mouth morphed into a smile, and he reached out, clasping the hand of the avatar of the Fell Dragon.
Conclusion[]
This melee's winner is...
Rafal!
