The One Minute Melee Tier List

Welcome to the Tier List! This page archives all the wins and losses our most-used characters have accumulated over their histories, and is inspired by the Hall of Records from the Death Battle Fanon wiki. Who's hot? Who's not? Who's surprising? Tournament results are included; this list is a highlight of popularity trends, not character strength. As such, a character popular enough to go far in a tournament should have that reflected here.

As the OMM wiki is based on no research, and pure author preference, this page is NOT meant to be a conclusive ranking on who is “the strongest” or “the best”. It merely highlights character trends among the wiki’s contributors, showcasing who is popular, and who is not so popular. For this reason, please do not write fights solely for the purpose of changing a characters’ position in the Tier List or Hall of Records. We encourage you to write fights simply because you enjoy them, and let these archives display the natural trends that occur.

This page, and the wiki as a whole, is under an intensive refurbishment. Please excuse if certain characters or fights are not included; We'll try to get to them! If you want to see a character added, you can help by filling out their character page with required information. See Aang as an example of a complete profile.

Note: Markers such as Top XYZ and XYZth Percentile may not be 100% accurate, as they do not need to be painstakingly updated with each individual addition to the list.

RULES[]

To aid with cataloguing, a character must have a complete profile in order to be entered into this gallery.
A character must be in at least 3 completed fights to register in the Tier List. Fights completed after 2017 must have at least 400 words in their story sections, as per the wiki rules and guidelines.
This Gallery will include official OMM matches published by Screwattack and Hyun's Dojo, but will not include episodes of Mini Rumble or Riot Rumble, a distinctly separate series made by the same animators
We will be wary of successive strings of fights solely made to make one character win or lose. While this hasn’t been a problem yet, we reserve the right to impose a cap on one user making a character win, say, six times in a row. This doesn't mean you can't give a character a winning streak at all, it just won't be reflected past a certain extent here.
1. Kuro (Cyborg Kuro-chan) has been capped at six wins (a +6 record) from HyperGabrielBen.
New Challengers: In the official Bowser Jr. vs Metal Sonic, Metal Sonic is prematurely KO’d and replaced by Mecha Sonic for the match proper. The tier list will not consider this fight in Metal Sonic’s record, but it will go towards Mecha Sonic’s.
1. Exception: Aichi vs Yugi contains a distinct fight between the titular characters, and a seperate season finale involving several others. To avoid unfairly overruling either portion, the episode will be catelogued as two seperate fights.
2. If two combatants fight a proper match, but are both defeated by a newcomer at the very end, the match will be considered a draw between the two, and will not count towards the newcomer's record. An example of this would be the official DBX between Mario and Luigi.
Disguised Characters: In Mega Man vs Samus, Samus is revealed to be SA-X at the conclusion of the fight. This fight will not count towards Samus Aran’s records, but it will be counted towards SA-X’s.
Alternate Endings: Fights with alternate endings by the same author will only have their first ending included in the records.
Team Fights: In fights where teams take each other on in one-on-one matchups, the overall match result will be considered. If fighter 1 from team A defeats fighter 2 from team B, but team B wins 3/5 matches overall, then fighter 1’s record will contain a loss to team 2.
Double-tap: If character X defeats character Y in a fair matchup, but is then challenged by character Z in the same "episode", the episode will still only count as one fight. The result will be catalogued as "X vs Y and Z" or another variant depending on the story.
Multiple Rounds: Akuma vs Kenpachi took place over three distinct episodes, and will count as three different matchups for their records. Little Mac vs Ippo took place in one episode with three rounds. Only the overall result of the one episode will be considered for their records.
Comedic episodes such as the official Goku vs Sonic, where several characters "fight" without an overall "X vs Y" plot, will not be considered in the Hall of Records
